A few years ago, David and Yasemin got married, and I had the privilege of covering their wedding. A few months ago, their first child, Freddie, celebrated his first birthday with a monkey cake. It's cool to have been involved in several phases of their family.
We managed to coax him outside even though it was a somewhat chillier spring day, on the theory that we could somehow work the spring theme into some photos. That part didn't work out too well, but some of my favorites are above. The actual shooting was mostly unremarkable. Exterior shots were with available light (dappled sunlight in one case, and a large skylight in another), and indoor shots were done with bounce flash. For babies it would be advantageous to have a faster lens/sensor setup to avoid the bounce flash, but I suppose that would come with time.
