Baby Yoshiyama

Photographing people does seem to come in waves. Right after doing Alan and Jeff's ERAS photos, I took some photos of a 1 month old baby. It always feels a little weird using flash with young babies, so on one hot summer day we broke out the "hot" lamps for the first time in years. These are color-balanced light bulbs sitting behind white umbrellas. After using hotshoe flashes for a long time, I'd forgotten what it was like to know what the shot will look like before taking it. Trouble is that the hot lamps don't throw very much light, and it's hard to keep the camera steady while perched on a ladder over a baby. Someday I'll upgrade the body (still a Canon 40D) and those noise/shutter issues will go out the window.
