This was a particularly good year for foliage. Some years there's some irregular weather so the leaves don't change in a coordinated fashion, while other years there just happens to be a rainstorm that knocks all the leaves off. Seemed like the stars were aligned this year, and had the opportunity to walk around one of the state parks in southern Maine, and the local Middlesex Fells.
Was looking for something other than colorful trees when Joanne and I came across this old pond bed with the afternoon sun filtering down through the leaves. Looked like a painting, and the post processing attempts to recapture some of that feeling. Getting the low end of the dynamic range correct was something of a challenge, but with some fill light and black adjustment I think it's not bad.
