Here's a perspective that I haven't seen much in other photos of Yosemite: astrophotos with the Valley giants in the foreground. The moon was at waxing gibbous, so there was excellent illumination of the foreground. in exchange for this, the sky was brighter than might otherwise have been. So, although the Milky Way was in the general direction of shooting (east-ish), it is not really visible. Still, there are nice views of Taurus and the Pleiades, and more than enough drama.
