Four Corners: Road trip from Houston to San Francisco

My brother William finished medicine residency at Baylor and is starting pulm/critical care fellowship at Stanford. We took the opportunity to drive his car (and some stuff) from Houston to San Francisco, by way of New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, and Nevada. As usual large chunks of it were just straight driving for many hours, but we took a few days to explore the Four Corners. The actual Four Corners and its Navajo park is really disappointing, and is nothing more than a place for people to take their mandatory photo. But all around it is an amazing density of really cool geology, all within about two hours of the actual Four Corners - separate posts to follow.
