I was actually looking for guidance on growing a bonsai plant over a rock (separate project, perhaps to be shared later) and came across a place called "Bonsai Rock," located on the east coast of Lake Tahoe.Of course I had already been thinking about driving along US 395 and going to Mono Lake, so this basically forced us to stop overnight at Lake Tahoe.
It's just a rather picturesque rock sitting on the shoreline, with a plant growing on top. You park on the side of the road and scramble down the hillside to reach the otherwise inaccessible shore.
Visiting Lake Tahoe only to see a rock? You bet.
